1. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Data

Personal data refers to any information recorded electronically or otherwise relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, excluding information that has been anonymized. When you use this app or interact with us, you will submit your personal data directly to us. Alternatively, with your consent, this app will access the personal data you entered in the corresponding registration system. In the following sections, we will describe how we process your personal data, including the scenarios, categories, means, and purposes involved. You can access the List of Personal Data Collected to briefly learn about how personal data is collected and/or used in the app.

1.1. Personal Data Collection and Use

1.1.1 Registration: This app does not provide the registration function. To register for HUAWEI CONNECT 2025, you need a personal invitation for the event and you need to register for the event on the event's official website or by following instructions in the invitation letter sent by the event organizer. After that, you will be able to use your account.

1.1.2 Login: When you log in to the app (please enter your email address used for registration), we will collect your email address, verification code, user ID (unique ID generated by the system for you to attend the event after you complete registration), login channel (the app), and login time, to allow you to use the app with full functions.

1.1.3 Viewing your information: After you log in to the app, it will synchronize the registration information you have entered in the registration system, including your name, company, email address, industry, and country/region. You can choose My Profile > My Info to view the information or My Profile > e-Pass to view your e-Pass for the event.

1.1.4 Saving sessions and booths to Favorites: After you log in to the app, it will keep track of the sessions and booths you add to your Favorites (including their names and the time when you add them to Favorites) under your user ID in the background. Your Favorites can be viewed on the My Profile page.

1.1.5 Adding sessions to your calendar app: When adding a session to Favorites, you can also add it to your phone's calendar app. But before doing so, you need to grant the calendar permission so that the calendar app on your phone can send you reminders.

1.1.6 Scan: You can scan the QR code to access booth introductions. In this process, the app needs to request your camera permission. Before scanning the QR code, you need to log in to the app.

1.1.7 Live broadcast: When you watch a live broadcast after login, the system sends the random ID generated during your watching and your permission on the live broadcast session to the live broadcast platform for permission verification. The platform also records the start and end time of your watching.

1.1.8 Q&A service:

1. When using this service, you can send text, voice, or other messages (hereinafter referred to as "input information") in the input box. We will process your input information and generate content to answer your questions. To protect your privacy and that of others, please do not submit any content containing personal data when submitting questions.

2. When you choose to paste content from the system clipboard to the input box, we need to access your clipboard. We will only read the clipboard content locally and will not upload the information to our server.

3. For voice interactions, we will request the Microphone permission to collect your speech and convert it into text information as your input information.

4. During your use of the service, you can like, dislike, copy, and listen to the Q&A output. We will collect your interactions for continuous improvement of our output quality. No personal data will be collected during this process.

5. To provide you with a consistent and seamless service experience and ensure service quality, we will record your chat history, including your input information, the app's output, and chat topics generated based on such information. You can query and manage the chats on the chat history page.

6. You can also view your journey report image where you can find your registration time, badge collection time, agenda attendance records, and the number of questions you asked.

1.1.9 Feedback: When you submit your comments or suggestions via the Feedback service, we will collect only the types of suggestions and text content you voluntarily provide. This information is used to evaluate and improve the functionality and content of this app. To protect your privacy and that of others, please do not submit any content containing personal data when submitting suggestions.

When you use this app without logging in, the following scenarios may occur.

1.1.10 Notification: To ensure that you receive attendance reminders and messages related to your favorite sessions in time, we will use information from your device, including its platform, manufacturer, brand, model, system version, OAID, AndroidID, device ID (IDFA and IDFV for iOS devices), Wi-Fi connection details, operator information, DHCP, SSID, BSSID, and base station information . This information will be used to create a unique CID and GID.

1.1.11 To detect abnormal usage behavior, optimize system performance, and troubleshoot and recover from faults, we will create access and login logs in the background. The logs contain information about the device's brand, model, ID, type, operating system, and version. In case of an Android device, the IMEI and MAC address are preferentially recorded. If these cannot be obtained, a randomly generated ID is recorded instead. In case of an iOS device, a randomly generated ID is recorded.

1.1.12 We will collect information such as the identifiers of pages you click on, the pages you browse, and the time of your visits to analyze app page access statistics, app download statistics, and app activeness statistics. Specifically, the following information will be collected: (1) User personal data: user UUID (a string of ciphertext used to identify a user account); (2) User behavior data: network access records (access time, browser type, browser version, browser plugins, screen resolution, operating system type, and IP address), usage and operation records of the IT system (titles of the pages browsed, URLs of the pages browsed, time when click records occur, component ID, component name, and component coordinate), run logs of the IT system (page loading duration, page stay duration, JavaScript, static resources, API records, and errors). The purpose of collecting this data is to analyze this app's user experience (PV, UV, behavior, and performance analysis) and monitor user experience (performance monitoring and exception diagnosis) in order to improve the services we provide for you.

1.2. Required Permissions

When you use this app, we may need you to grant certain device permissions, such as camera, calendar, microphone, and notifications permissions, for the following purposes:

1. Camera permission: Required so that you can scan QR codes to access booth introductions.

2. Calendar permission: Required so that you can add sessions to the system calendar. This allows us to send you reminders through your phone's system calendar.

3. Microphone permission: Required so that you can verbally ask questions when using the Q&A service. This permission is also required for voice input so that the voice input function can read audio data.

4. Notifications permission: Required so that you can use the message notification function of this app. For example, you will receive notifications about an event when it is about to start.

You can also refuse to grant any of the preceding permissions. Doing so will only affect the use of the corresponding function and will not affect your normal use of other app functions. For iOS users, you can manage permissions by navigating to Settings > App > Huawei Connect. For Android users, you can manage permissions by navigating to Settings > App Settings > Huawei Connect > Permissions Management. The display and management of permissions may vary depending on your device. For details, refer to your device's user guide or system description.

4. How We Protect and Retain Your Personal Data

Huawei attaches great importance to the security of personal data. We take appropriate physical, organizational, and technical measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss.
